Introducing The S
The community of San Diego has grown immensely recently and has become a heart of small businesses. The beauty of this city is that these businesses have grown and created a tight-knit creative circle that boost each other up. So how to get involved and helping these businesses? By attending their events, showing up at community services, browsing their artwork - and The S will help provide a growing list every week with these happenings so you don’t miss them!
1. Why a Newsletter?
Community is important aspect of happiness within a city. Especially when as a young adult, you move to a new place for a job - but finding the social events, new spots to try, and the connections to local businesses is just hard.
So after scrolling for hours on various instagram profiles, influencer videos, and local magazines, you find some places to try but mostly see events that had happened prior. How to know about all these amazing social experiences before they happen without having that word of mouth yet?
2. Community Building
This newsletter provides a simple solution that will save scrolling time, finding new events and social aspects within the local community, and showcase our local businesses new achievements! I love seeing the local communities grow and build right in front of my eyes, but I still miss so many events because I wasn’t scrolling. With a weekly summary of events coming up: we can increase the amount of foot traffic in neighborhoods, get you out and bonding with the community, and decrease that scrolling time on your phone!
3. What will it entail?
So this weekly newsletter will come on Tuesdays so the community has the week to plan for events. (Since most happen on the weekends…) The newsletter is a free subscription with 6 new events, local business wins, and new artist’s work. Paid subscribers will get all the free subscription perks plus new exclusive business opening events, and 10 - 12 new events to support. These fees will help small businesses advertise in the newsletter that will in return support their funding.
